I have heard many times that musicians wished that there was a way to charge for their online concerts simply. After a little bit of research, we have found a couple of ways to do it easily as companies are currently pivoting due to COVID-19. Some of these like sidedooraccess.com are brand new to the scene while Bandzoogle has been around for a while and has adopted some tools to help musicians create virtual concerts.
1. Bandzoogle
If you have an artist website through Bandzoogle they have offered to sell tickets through a band/artist website for a while. Recently they streamlined it and made it easier if you are trying to a virtual concert for your fans.
If you do not have an artist website, this would be a good opportunity to create a website and begin promoting it.
This is a relatively new company that recently pivoted to be an amazing site for doing live events online. They help you with ticketing, gathering reviews after the fact, they are creating a social engine on their website so people that are similar to your act can find you through their ecosystem.
Once someone buys a ticket they will send the link to your virtual show (they prefer using zoom) and then manage a lot of the backend. You could even team up with another artist, bring in each other's fans, and split it and side door access will do the money splitting and everything for you.
3. Eventbrite
You can create a ticketed event through Eventbrite and then once the ticket is sold you can send them the link to your private online viewing party just like the other platforms. This method would work well if you already have a decent social media following and just want to do some small gigs to bring in your community and perform for them.
